This award is made to the nominated person or group who has made the most significant contribution in the field of Chromatography during the last two years in one of the following categories:

  • Publications of new developments in chromatography

  • Publications of applications of new chromatographic techniques

  • Publications of established chromatographic technique applications

  • General contributions to promote chromatography in South Africa

ChromSA Chromatographer of the Year 2014 event

The ChromSA Chromatographer of the Year award for 2014 was presented to the Research Group for Plant Metabolomic Studies of the University of Johannesburg (UJ) at UJ on 25 March 2015.  The event started with a tour of the laboratories of the group, followed by the acceptance speech given by Prof Ian Dubery, which was entitled “Metabolomics at the interface of chromatography, mass spectrometry and chemometrics”.  The group won the award for their scientific publications in the field of chromatography relating to the applications of both new and established chromatographic techniques.  The team comprised seven members: Prof Ian Dubery; Prof Paul Steenkamp (CSIR); Dr Lizelle Piater; Dr Ntakadzeni Madala; Dr Heino Heyman; Ms Nombuso Ndlovo and Mr Fidele Tugizimana.  Our congratulations are extended to the Research Group for receiving the award.
